Billy Drago is the best actor ever, period. His masterful portrayal of killer-drug lords, the evil, and the insane can be touched by no one. His best role is as the violent drug czar, Ramon Koda, in "Delta Force 2" which also stars the ever awesome Chuck Norris. The most amazing film he appears in, however, is "The Acting Class," in which he and his wife, Silvana Gallardo, teach the viewer how to act. In fact, "The Acting Class" is DWI's favorite film. Combine people acting angry, sad, and insane, in a very dramatic fashion- with behavioral concepts from the realms of metaphysics, and you conjure up one crazy film. This video can be used to learn to act using techniques the average person never would have thought of, or popped in at a party to make people say, "what the hell is that?" and be driven to madness. For more information on the films of Billy Drago, visit www.billydrago.com or see below for DWI's vast list of Drago film reviews and box art.

DWI's Billy Drago Film Reviews
(Films appear in alphabetical order)
(DWI watched these films at various times in life, under various circumstances, the reviews will reflect this and
be updated as the films are eventually re-watched)

A Doll In The Dark (1998)- (Feat. Josh Brauer, Naomi Kawashima)
A "psycho-sexual thriller," A Doll in the Dark tells the story of a Japanese girl visiting the US who is captured by a deranged Japanese antiques dealer and held captive. When a member of the LAPD played by Billy Drago is put on the case, the madman finds out just what crazy really is.

Banzai Runner (1987)- (Feat. Dean Stockwell, John Shepherd, Charles Dierkop)
Banzai Runners are "rich men who live above the law; men with a taste for expensive drugs and flashy women; and a passion for driving exotic cars at outrageous speeds." In this fine movie Billy Drago plays the most out of control banzai runner of them all. An ex-cop (Dean Stockwell) who's brother was the victim of a hit and run by Drago, infiltrates the group of speed junkies in order to extract old-fashioned revenge.

Blood Relic (2005)- (Feat. Jennifer Lauren Grant, Joshua Park, Debbie Rochon)
This movie sucks. Another fine example of a film which used Photoshop to construct a box to try and make it look cool when it is really just an ultra-low budget movie shot with a cruddy digital camera, shitty actors, and a shitty plot. Billy Drago has a very nice freak-out scene in this film, other than that, not even fun to make fun of. Modern, cruddy-horror, low-gore, slasher-crap.

China White (1991)- (Feat. Russell Wong, Steven Leigh, Lisa Schrage)
Billy Drago is Antonio Scalia, a mafia leader trying to crush his competition in the drug trade. Taking place in Amsterdam, Paris, and Bangkok, China White boasts plenty of bloody shoot-outs, and Billy Drago in top form, playing a character reminiscent of Ramon Koda, the drug kingpin of Delta Force II. A must see for all Drago fans.

The Circuit (2001)- (Feat. Oliver Gruner, "The Tiger Twins", Bryan Genesse, Gail Harris, Loren Avedon)
International kickboxing champ Oliver Gruner is Dirk Longstreet (nice name), the only one tough enough to win in the life or death world of underground fighting known as "The Circuit." It is a good thing he is so tough because gangsters run by no other than, you guessed it... Billy Drago, have captured his brother in order to make him fight. One of several films in which Drago forces tough guys into deadly fights for money and power.

The viewer soon learns that a violent alien infection has caused the rest of the people at the facility to kill each other. The rest of the film covers the womens' struggle to discover which of the two men is the alien infected murderer. An actually amusing low-budget sci-fi flick, Convict 762 contains lots of crazy Billy Drago as one of the convicts.

Cyborg 2 (year ?90s)- (Feat. Jack Palance, Angelina Jolie, Elias Koteas)
While Cyborg 2 is nowhere near as good as the original featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme in 1989, it does have it's moments of amusement. Billy Drago gives the best performance as a cyborg hunter with an unfortunate and hilarious skin condition. Jack Palance does a decent job of being the voice of the future revolution, however, it is far from one of his more involved and spectacular roles (Jack Palance is in DWI's top 10 actors list). And Angelina Jolie, well... she sucks, and comes off as a very unconvincing, anorexic, super-cyborg. For dudes who think Jolie is hot however, this being one of her earlier films does have her taking her top off, so I imagine they will think it is great. Typical good cyborg must stop evil, future world government type story.

International TERRORISTS!! seize control of and American plane in Greece in order to secure the release of their leader CARLOS! (that's a scary name) from US custody. Their demands are met, however, when Carlos decides he wants to keep one of the hostages, wife of Navy Seal Brad Cartowski (Michael Pare), Cartowski has to take the law into his own hands. Once again Drago finds himself as a super-villan held up on an island fortress (a common theme for many Billy Drago films), a role which always suits him well.

Death Game (2002)- (Feat. Joe Lara, Richard Lynch, Maureen Lavette, Bo Brown, Charlotte Crossley)
Death Game is a pretty unintentionally funny movie which is obviously shot in Russia or somewhere there about's even though it is supposed to be taking place in the US. High school basketball star Jackie Stewart (Bo Brown), is believed to be the next "Michael Jordan." Feeling there is money to be made by controlling a lad with such potential wealth in his future, Shakes Montrose (Billy Drago) enters the stage. Montrose is a man involved in many shady dealings and supported by many "rusky immigrant" foot soldiers (a comment made perhaps to try and explain why so many of the actors seem to have Russian accents). There is one small problem with our villain's plans, Bo's coach, played by Joe Lara, a Drago film regular, wants to save his star player. With his fists and the help of a corrupted police officer now turned guy with a conscience (Richard Lynch, a DWI favorite and frequent Drago movie comrade), the coach enters a world where brutality is the law and revenge is... well, REVENGE!

Death Ring (1993)- (Feat. Mike Norris, Don Swayze, Chad McQueen)
It appears the Frank Stallone is the only shitty brother of a famous movie star missing from the all star lineup! The back of the movie box actually claims the Death Ring features, "the screen's greatest action stars," while this is obviously true in the case of Billy Drago, these other guys, umm... no. Any ways, all that aside, the movie is actually fun to watch in all its typical action movie cruddiness, besides, is there really such thing as "good acting," in most action films?
In this flick, Mike Norris plays Matt Collins, a rough man who earns the honor of being dubbed, "the toughest man alive," when he wins a survivalist competition. This is one contest that it turns out, you don't want to win since Collins becomes fodder for an annual manhunt competition put on by none other than Danton Vachs, yes, Drago. Who can ever get enough of the crazy, rich guys who like to hunt people movies? Don't worry Ice-T, "Surviving the Game" is still the best in the genre due to your really excellent acting skills!

Delta Force II (1991)- (Feat. Chuck Norris, John P. Ryan, Paul Perri, Richard Jaeckel, Mateo Gomez, Hector Mercado, Begonia Plaza)
As mentioned earlier, Billy Drago's role as Ramon Koda in Delta Force II is his best and most evil in the mind of DWI. Drago is the epitome of the ruthless drug lord who has no qualms with killing anyone be they man, woman, or child in order to maintain his position as supreme overlord of a country's drug trade. Delta Force II is one of those rare sequels that DWI believes to be better than the first. Chuck Norris is as badass as always, and the "bad guys," successfully make you think they are quite "bad". In DF2 Chuck's job is to rescue hostages from Koda and extract revenge upon him for the brutal acts which he has committed. Taking place in a fictitious South American country where the whole system is corrupted by drug money and the fear of Koda, DF2 also contains nice amounts of anti-drug propaganda and go USA! USA! attitude!

Demon Hunter (2004)- (Feat. Sean Patrick Flanery, Collean Porch, Tania Deighton, William Bassett)
SUCKS BIG SHIT! Is the only way to describe Demon Hunter, even Billy Drago seems uninspired in this unbelievably boring piece of trash. Seemingly influenced by the crappy TV show "Charmed," about the stupid witch chicks that are supposed to be hot and are really huge dumb asses, and also happens to have appearances by Drago that are actually supposed to be good, DON'T WATCH THIS! I do not like Sean Patrick Flanery, his character the demon hunter sucks! I had a hard time focusing on this film at a party, it just bored holes in my eyes which shot out copious amounts of blood and maggots every time I looked at the screen. The film and acting quality of this film is like that of the crappy TV show it seems to aspire to be. The only good thing about Demon Hunter is that it is only 78 minutes long.

It has been a long time since I watched this film so I can't say much about it. Billy Drago plays "Cowboy," a gun dealer who sells weapons to Boxleiter who plays a Marine. Boxleiter is after a diplomat that killed his sister and got away due to "diplomatic immunity." It is a relatively small part by Drago I belive, can't be certain, one way or another, he is always best as a bad guy and here he isn't.

Fort Doom (2003)- (Feat. Debbie Rochon, Rick Washburn)
This is a low-budget movie that may well be related to Blood Relic since they both feature Debbie Rochon and Billy Drago. Young women travel to Fort Doom to start a brothel (who wouldn't?), as one can imagine, with a name like that, it is not a very good idea. Murders begin to occur and the town coroner played most excellently by Drago, is a lunatic. There is sort of a twist regarding the identity of the killer that I didn't see coming right away, and in all its PBS quality filming and bad acting, I found the movie actually quite fun to make fun of when friends were over. Quality entertainment!

Anyway, yes Cynthia Rothrock is a really great martial artist and oh so good of an actress, just as good of an actress as Chuck Norris is an actor, I believe they may have been separated at birth! Rothrock stars as the wife of a famous soccer player who is murdered by Billy Drago, who plays an insane diamond thief who wants his diamonds back. Since Rothrock is really tough and wants revenge, combined with the fact that Drago thinks she knows where his diamonds are and won't let her alone, it is time for some major kicks and punches in peoples' faces! While Mirror, Mirror was a classic horror flick, reminiscent of Carrie, but featuring a stupid goth chick so dumb you could never feel sorry for her like you are supposed to, and only want her to die- Mirror, Mirror III is ... garbage! I have not seen Mirror, Mirror II as far as I know however, it was not a "erotic shocker". MM3 is simply softcore porn masquerading as a horror flick. While it has some laughable moments, if you are thinking of watching this movie, do yourself a favor and just get yourself a real porno instead. Only diehard Billy Drago fans have an excuse for watching this crap, and his performance is less than stellar due to the cruddy script and an uninteresting character he is provided with. The only highlight in the whole film is when Drago tells the witch that lives in the mirror (Monique Parent), "you are driving me into madness with your insanity." Basic plot summary, a horny witch lives in an evil mirror- a young man and his father have it in their house, the witch gets it on with both of them and then gets pissed off when another chick shows up, the end.

Yet another film with Drago in it that looks like it was filmed with a PBS camera. Legs Diamond played by Josh Mosby is the main character in this show and you will hate him. I won't bother getting into the details of the typical gangster movie plot, the film isn't worth the effort. The Untouchables (1987)- (Feat. Sean Connery, Robert De Niro, Kevin Costner, Andy Garcia, Charles Martin Smith)

Both characters are extremely hate able and I found myself hoping beyond all hope for their deaths the entire film. Robert De Niro does a good job as mob boss Al Capone, no surprise, he is always good when he isn't doing some shitty comedy. Billy Drago plays Capone's main hitman and does a good job of being evil without saying much. When Drago's name is mentioned on movie boxes this film is often his first or only reference due to its production size and vast circulation when in reality Delta Force II is his biggest and best performance, and he has much larger and better roles in many other films also.

The cover of Windwalker compares it to Dances with Wolves, other than the fact that they both happen to be movies with a Native American theme, they have nothing in common. The movie's dialogue is in Cheyenne I believe, some Native American language, with subtitles. This is one of those films like the great Alien Warrior where I couldn't really tell what age range it was meant for, kids or adults, I suppose both. Anyway, it tells the story of a dying, old Cheyenne warrior- Windwalker. As he is dying he recounts his life story to his grandchildren. Billy Drago plays a bad Crow warrior (I think he was supposed to be crow). This is one of the few films with both Drago and his wife Silvana Gallardo in it.
